Venture returns are not linear outcomes of planning, strategy, or even intelligence. The most extraordinary results emerge not from calculated steps, but from individuals or teams who are radically immersed in their pursuit—often to the point of obsession. The structure, the process, the pitch decks—these may matter to institutions, but they rarely drive the kinds of inflection points that generate asymmetric returns. What does, is a kind of irrational, relentless, and deeply personal commitment to seeing something through that others have not yet learned to see at all.
